Welcome to the NHK is my favorite example to use of shows where Gonzo screws up everything. It’s not a complete trainwreck where you wonder what the hell was going through their minds, or where they completely sabotage the source material, but rather where the constant accumulation of little, possibly even unnecessary changes build up to cause problems with the material later on.

I would’ve watched this back when I plowed through all the Tenchi stuff a year ago, but a bunch of the CDs had died and it took me a while to find the missing episodes somewhere else. I wish I had gotten it out of the way back then. It was AWFUL. The whole time, I basically kept saying to myself “wtf is this shit?” Seriously, everything was just…there. I had no idea what was going on or why it was there.
I was forced to watch Da Capo 2 and Da Capo 2 2: The Search for Curly’s Gold two years when they aired. I couldn’t keep a straight face during them because of how insanely cliched they were. They crossed the line over into camp. OTOUTO-KUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!. For reference, here is my post from my old blog about the first episode of Da Capo 2:

Sesshomaru is the nicest pedobear ever. He doesn’t stalk lolis, he SAVES them from death, TWICE! You should all learn from him. m9(ゝc_,･｡) Too bad Kouga’s out of the picture now. I guess there’s not enough filler space for him so now that his shikon pieces are gone, he’s kinda useless lol.
I think these screenshots should be enough to convince my friends to watch this show now right? 
Uh yea it was kinda funny at first but then she’s like MY DADDY’S DEAD WAHHHHH and then her mother comes running and it gets all dramatic. I do have a feeling they’re centering the plot around Roppongi though. They told him he should “speak more” and he was randomly hanging around with everyone today while the other guys were left behind. Only 4 more eps left right? I’m still crossing my fingers for Akari x Roppongi bwahahaha

And well we all know Ed likes Winry, I mean after all he’s been rejected by her “once” but now he’s getting taller so she’s all like “ooh yea baby”. Hooray for the anime series not cutting corners for Ed x Winry

Gluttony is so gross lol. He’s turned into a giant mouth next episode. I may have to start backlogging FMA since there’s not gonna be any new EdWin scenes for a while.
UFO Ultramaiden Princess Valkyrie is pretty far down on the list. It’s bad enough that it’s a fanservice comedy that is neither funny nor enjoyably service-y. What really damns it is that it has borderline Tenshi ni Narumon-level grating voices. While nobody is singularly as bad as Noelle was, the loli versions of characters like Valkyrie or Hydra are almost unbearable. Even people that I generally like, like Rie Tanaka and Saeko Chiba, were really awful here.

So I got like really upset that Ein died and decided to backlog Phantom. But then I kinda wanted to see pimp Reiji and geezus what a pimp he’s turned into. His new haircut makes him kinda hot too But ugh him and Claudia =_=;;; Yuck. I think Ein’s alive and I think she’s the siilhouette that we saw in this episode that killed the loli’s room mate. OH yes there is now a kawaii desu loli-chan who becomes Reiji’s new “partner”:

She wants revenge for her “sister” but I think Reiji only agrees for her to tag along because he probably knows that Ein’s the one who killed her sister. Btw what the hell is her name it was so Engrishy I didn’t catch it. Kara? Carol? And just how OLD is she supposed to be anyway
