So I know how everyone complains “Waaaaaaaaaah, every anime is lolipedo moeshit!”, “Waaaaaaaaaah, every anime is fanservice trash”, and so on. Those are exaggerations, of course. But dramas, on the other hand, really are all the same. Check out the list of this season’s dramas.

There are 25 new dramas airing this season. That 25 consists of:
Detectives/lawyers: 9
Period: 4
NHK prestige dramas: 3
TROUBLED people with PROBLEMS: 2
Eccentric-teacher-with-a-troubled-school: 2 (plus a special that I didn’t count)
Doctors: 1 (Wow, only one. I guess they’re all still continuing)
Fake Winter Sonata ripoff: 1
Live-action Trapeze: 1
KILLER (Korean girl group) WHORES: 1
LIVE-ACTION GARTENDER: 1
Also note that there’s a little more overlap, like how some of those period dramas are also NHK prestige dramas, and how some of those detective shows are about TROUBLED detectives with PROBLEMS
I misread period, so my thought was “THE CAN MAKE A WHOLE DRAMA ABOUT THAT?!?”
Sigh. I will grow up someday.
This made me laugh out loud. It’s a fact that once you’ve seen a drama, you’ve seen them all.
I was really close to writing “jidai geki” instead, but then was like naaaaaaaaah. Whoops!
yea after seeing 80 dramas I think I’m all drama’ed out. I do wanna check out Gartender mainly for the old Arashi fan somewhere inside me
Why would anyone complain about lolipedo anime???
Oh don’t get me started about filler eps the way doramas do it.
I survived through 3 entire seasons of (Eccentric-teacher-with-a-troubled-school) Gokusen despite the horrid manjuice of all kinds of boygroups, all for the love of Nakama Yukie. God, each episode gets more and more painful in the pattern of boys-get-in-trouble, teacher-saves-the-day, moral-lessons-learned. It was GTO-awesome the first season around, but then the wretched formula was built to perfection in succeeding seasons.
And the last drama I watched before I fell out of love of jdorama was Proposal Daisakusen, a story about a guy going back in time to try to stop a present-day wedding of her secret love. It was kinda nice the first time around, but then they did it every fricking episode. “tondake” haunts me to this day.
At least KILLER WHORE show has orgasmic robots & nyanko female doctors
i just watch and enjoy my Huddy.
It’s not like this is even a problem unique to Japan, have you checked out the network lineups in the USA lately? Every show is a cop show, unless it’s a doctor show. And then there’s like one high concept show that tries to emulate Lost and gets canceled after one season.
Tweets that mention if you think anime are repetitive, you’ve never seen a drama « 見ないで! ひとり言 -- Topsy.com
LMAO….this tickles the drama watching part of me. sigh how depressing and yet i subject myself to these dramas time and time again.
“Set in the near-futuristic 2060, “Heaven’s Flower” combines mystery with a pure love story. Due to a botched experiment, Japan has become a barren land where flowers can’t even bloom, resulting in a severe rationing crisis. While the country works towards rebuilding, “District 7″ is one of the areas left behind in the process.”
Post-apocalyptic romance/suspense, with possibly a bit of sci-fi…. what category did you fit this one? xD
that would obviously be the “troubled people with problems”
I checked out the first episode of Misaki #1, it’s from the same creator of Gokusen and yes, such unoriginal trash. Take out the concept of a teacher with a yakuza past and put in a teacher with a hostess past in replacement. As for the detective/lawyer dramas, yes! It feels like once you’ve seen one or two of them.. you’ve basically got it all down. I watched the first episode of LADY~Saigo no Hanzai Profile~ and yeaaaah.
The only drama I’m watching for this season is one of the period drama’s, Gou, and it’s actually not bad in my view. Considering it’s Ueno Juri from Nodame Cantabile and seeing her in such a role is quite different.. it’s overall interesting. Maybe because I haven’t watched many Japanese period dramas compared to Korean period ones.
