actually I don’t think Japan knows about R&S… when I was reading the comments flying by they thought it was from Disney
I think some people in Japan are aware of R & S; I heard somewhere that Hiroyuki Takei (the guy who wrote Shaman King) based the spirits Konchi and Ponchi (a kitsune and a tanuki) on R and S.
It’s got little do with how well Ren and Stimpy is known over there, and more to do with how P&S is basically a huge homage to everything western.
