Finishing up the spring season…

I realized we only updated the blog like 5 days this month so I figured I’d chime in with some post season thoughts.

B Gata H Kei - Man couldn’t you at least let them go all the way in the last episode? Why you gotta cock block them when he’s right about to pen0r her! (屮゚Д゚)屮 I’m disappoint.

Mayoi Neko Overrun – I want those hours of my life back. I knew this was a shitty show, and I expected it to be shitty, but when they threw in bloomers vs hot pants and had like hot pants shooting bazookas, that was the last straw. 凸´Д`)HAHAHAHA

Angel Beats – I didn’t get it until I read the thread on MyAnimeList. So you suddenly want me to like pretend that Otonashii and Kanade are in love just because he happens to be her organ donor? Let’s shaft the main character while we’re at it. Pixiv artists are so desperate they’re shipping Yuri with that axe guy who’s so insignificant I can’t even remember his name. Also Hinata x Yui? LOL. Okay yea he told her he’d marry her so she could go to heaven. Suddenly that makes HinaYui some OTP canon?? Did someone forget character development?  Oh that’s right, I heard Maeda Jun took the money and ran. I cried in Air. I cried in Kanon. I hate to admit it but I cried in Clannad (After Story). I was like this in Angel Beats: (´_ゝ`)

Stuff I’m still watching:

Full Metal Alchemist – Well I already know what happens so I’ll just let it accumulate until the series finishes so I can watch it in one go.

Hakuouki – Yea I know it ended but I’ve finally started to catch up on it today. Less sword fighting and moar romance please. Do I need to go play that R-18 doujin game just to get any romance around here? ヾ(●゚∀゚●)ノ アハハッ

Kaichou wa Maid Sama – It’s not as bad as I originally thought. Glad they’re not dwelling on Usui x Misaki, as I would expect of JC Staff by this point *cough Karin*.

Fairy Tail - Backlogging. I don’t know, I just can’t get into this that much. I marathoned like 10 episodes one weekend. It was alright – but once I started to backlog it again my interest wained. I’ll eventually do another marathon. In the meantime, I’m re-reading my RAVE manga collection

Durarara!! - I’ve been on episode 3 for like 2 months now. I only watched this show because it took place in Ikebukuro, which is where I stayed for my Japan trip. After 3 episodes the nostalgia effect wore off and I’m now trying to figure out why I care about anybody in this show. As far as I’m concerned it’s just yaoi fangirl fodder since all I ever see on pixiv for the past 2 months are yaoi pics of that black haired guy and the blonde haired guy who throws vending machines buttsecksing each other.

Sunao ni Narenakute - Yea this drama finally ended but I think I left off at ep 3. I’m looking forward to seeing a bunch of fked up Japanese twitter users in action! I’ll probably get on this once I finish with Hakuouki.

***

I have no interest in anything starting in the summer season so it will be my time to catch up on everything listed above. My interest in anime overall is waning. Blame it on my job, blame it on the economy or just blame it on my addiction to MMOs lol. I’m also trying to clear out my ever growing otome game backlog. As you can tell I still do watch a good amount of shows but I do more backlogging now because I prefer to watch a bunch of eps at once. By the time the show ends what’s the point of blogging it I guess? :? Anyways I still read smutty manga, and I got a new phone that I can read this manga on haha – so maybe I’ll have more manga posts in the future. I expect the summer to be a bit dead but maybe something interesting will pop up in the fall.

…not that I’m counting on it. (´・ω・`;)

  1. if you can get subs or dont mind really complicated talk raws, I seriously advise Senkou no Night Raid…
And for laffs without fanservice see Working!

  2. Go marathon Ashita no Nadja. ( ´ー`)

Fairy Tail animu is crap, but maybe you should catch up with the manga?

  3. lol at the sarcastic comment about fairy tail getting you to read rave again!

Don’t think anyone can begrudge you for not watching current and future anime.

When you have to watch crap like Mayoi Neko in which you have to ask yourself, does the harem lead have time to care about cliche girls when he’s (illegally?)running a cake shop because his sister too freaking irresponsible plus school work?

  5. Yeah I finished up B Gata H Kei and was so effin mad they didn’t do it by the end. I hear rumors of season 2…..can it happen?

I’m still following Fairy Tail and Kaichou week to week and it’s not too bad (Kaichou).

I dropped Angel Beats in the beginning but I feel like maybe I should go back and finish…

  6. As I am a sport anime freak I have/had quite a few decent series to watch, like Ookiku, Major and Giant Killing. As for the rest… I’m left with one last ep. of FMA to watch ant thats pretty much it, the rest is so boring that I can’t even bother to name it – its a complete waste of my time. Im still watching those shounen giants like Bleach (the fillers are finally over yeah!!) and One Piece, I gave up on Naruto though for many reasons (too many butsechs is one of them).

I don’t really know what will be on this summer but I’m not expecting much…

  7. “Sunao ni Narenakute” was a big disappointment. Great premise, but ultimately FAIL! The ending was particularly bland!

Watch “Love Shuffle” instead. You’ll love it.

  8. ^That’s exactly what I was thinking…went into the first episode not knowing I would end up seeing so much tits and ass. Disappointment.

  9. Daimaou was terrible (started out watchable; got worse by the episode and was ridiculously bad throughout the second half). In many ways, Angel Beats was a model of what’s wrong with anime creation today, but I thought it was at least watchable.

  10. Highschool of the Dead and that Ookami-san anime looks pretty promising.

Everything else doesn’t interest me much at all too. :P

  11. watch star fleet(x-bomber is jap version/original) and terrahawks since anime currently sucks.

puppet shows I watched in the 80′s. Star fleet mecha show which taught me the value of honor and death for the 1st time. Terrahawks had you crying over the death of robot cubes with far more personality than a harem lead. You tube has the episodes if your interested.

  12. Angel Beats had some pretty amazing scenes but I think it was a completely incoherent series overall. This made me mad. THIS IS NOT THE JUN MAEDA I KNOW.

I actually think that Mayoi Neko Overrun was pretty decent for what it was – goofy – although being a fan of Peko helps. I mean, the best-animated episode was when they spent an entire episode on some giant robot parody that admittedly I didn’t really get, playing it totally straight with OP/ED included. I actually really liked the 3rd episode though.

Working was really good imho Hinano; I don’t see that on your list and that’s honestly the only one I’d recommend to everyone. Oh, and Ookiku Furikabutte.

As for this current season, there’s actually a lot of shows where my first reaction was “this looks like it’ll be about a thousand times better than the title/summary suggested.” The Seitokai show seems to work so far and (of all things) Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu is hinting at a pretty intriguing plot despite having a name that makes me want to stab myself. Amagami looks like it’ll follow Kimikiss by not sucking, too. Yay Enterbrain!
