Full Metal Alchemist is almost over!? (Spoilers)

!!!

I knew this day would come eventually but I didn’t think it would be so soon. The 2nd to last chapter has been released and the manga will conclude at 108 chapters. I’m like 6 episodes behind on Brotherhood but mostly since I was up to date with the manga and I knew what happens anyway. But yea damn….Ed gets his arm back, Al reunites with his soul and the father of the homonculus getting his ass beaten down by Ed. Pretty exciting chapter. Can’t wait for the grand finale!

  1. I’m at a loss for words. Is it really ending? I guess I’d rather it go out with merit than Naruto on.

    Should be good. :)

  2. ah, 108 again. everytime I see this number I always associate with the 108 tempations one must overcome to go nirvana. just like back at that time when death note ended. the authors said is have to be time 108 chapter and that’s why the pace was slow. it been nine years since the first chapter was published. what a long time.

the anime is going to end soon, too, as many newssites and blog claimed.

  3. My expression this entire chapter was “:DDDDD” it was an absolutely amazing read, but it’s kind of shocking to think that something that has been there for so long is finally ending, since FMA became popular just as I was getting more and more into anime/manga.

  4. It’s so awesome yet so sad to see FMA ending. What will we do afterwards? I really hope Arakawa has something awesome for her next series.

What I loved about Ed getting his arm back was the simplicity of it all. Nobody ever thought about Al exchanging his soul for it because, well, it would mean Al sacrificing himself. But hey, bam! Arm back. Now he just needs to figure out how to get his leg back and he’s complete.

  5. The arm bit made so much sense, I actually did a double-take when it got brought up.

  6. what i dont get is, if he sacrificed his arm & leg to get al back, if al returns why did he only get his arm and not leg back ?_?

  7. Sounds right.. from what I remember of the flashback stuff he lost his leg, came back with no Al, then gave up his arm to go back to the gate again for Al’s soul (vaguely remember a comment from the guy who appeared at the gate this chapter about being surprised that Ed would come back willingly or some such)..

  8. Remember Hinano! he had both arms when trying to bring Al back but not one leg! Al’s price was just the arm :D and the Anime will have the same final as the manga, sonfirmed by the director, this will be awesome. He also said the Final Chapter is LONG I expect 80 pages or something like that… xD

  9. Well, I suppose it was to be expected with the chapter called “The Final Battle’ and whatnot, but still, I saw expecting a few more chapters. There goes another series I like, good of it to end on its own terms and not stretch out until into a boring infinity.

  10. this is sooooo good!!!!! i must keep up with the brotherhood episodes i haven’t watched yet. Hope 80 pages will be enough to wrap up this story as it deserves.

  11. Yeah, Ed lost his leg for trying to transmute his mother back to life (whereas Al lost his whole body).

  12. Oh my, I loved this. I just want to know when Chapter 108 is out?? I can’t remember if I saw it was coming out early, or if that was a dream XD

And I’m pretty sure that the last chapter will be 180 pages long, so like reading a manga book. They are about that long.

  13. I’v ebben really really impacient with the anime so I read the last few chapters. Now I can’t even imagine how I could have possibly liked season 1 (of the anime). Or is that version 1?

Ah well. Eagerly awaiting the translation of chapter 107. :D

  14. bloody hell, that’s some shounen power up lol

All Ed needed was his other arm to give Father, the guy who brought the world around him to his knees and negated the attacks of everyone, a beating.

  15. Huh? But there’s this picture of human Al, with Ed and Winry and their babies… (and karate kid, but I don’t like her, so !@#$ it)

If it’s gonna be like “somehow Al got his body back, HAPPY END” I’ll be seriosuly pissed off. It’s totally trollish to have us read 107 chapters of getting-Al’s-body-back arc and then off screen.

That being sad, $$^#&@@! OTP END! In a shounen manga! Never thought I’d see the day. With babies and everything! That’s like the ultimate anti-Inuyasha ending. Go Arakawa sensei!
