  1. Funny, I forgot that there was any of that fanservice. What I remember is Yahagi Sayuri’s burbling voice. And some of the outdoor watercolor backgrounds. And the manga, lol.

When it came out, I obviously didn’t think anything of it, but re-watching it now I was totally like “Wait a minute, is that…” and then went “Oh yeah debut role derf derf!”

      @Di Gi Kazune

I seriously contemplated calling it that instead for the lulz.

  2. Actually, this one I’ll have to disagree. Karin the Anime to me was decent. Sure, it had some fanservice, but it didn’t overwhelm the series like some others….

  3. this might just be the jaded part of me rearing its pretty little head, but both incarnations of this “creative vision” look pretty crap to me. No one likes excessive fanservice, but the whole “let’s get married immediately after our first kiss” thing is soooo distasteful. I’m sure I wouldn’t be able to stomach either one.

  4. uh how is it getting married after their first kiss? he proposed to her in like the last volume of the manga after they had already been dating and kissed multiple times

  5. awww, Karin is so cute in the manga!
Well, I never watched the anime even, but Now i’ve seen manga… I have something to sink fangs into…

  6. I cant recall that Karin had that much fanservice but on the other hand karin wasnt very memorable at all.
The thing thats stuck most in my head is winner-kun and his japanese

  7. I’m trying to remember why I dropped this show cause I don’t mind fanservice at that level at all… Oh wait, I was disappointed, that it had not enough faservice, I mean after THAT kind of opening, you expect a bit more. :D

  8. @hinano, I see, sorry, seeing all those panels in succession made me jump to that conclusion (never read this series). Meh, still doesn’t look like my cup of tea though, probably might have tried like 5 years ago though.

  9. I think I’m gonna cruise through the manga, read the kissing chappies and ignore the rest, because I FUCKING HATE VAMPIRES. But Karin is really cute, she reminds me of a character from Princess Waltz. She’s probably not as cool, though, judging from her clothes.

Anyway, I don’t get why they shoved those (rather bad) fanservice into a silly-shoujo series. What, guys will watch even annoying will-they-won’t-they shoujo as long as it has boobies?

  10. its simple, JC Staff thought it would be a good idea to make all their animes focus on tits and panties. that is how zero no tsukaima was born

  11. My, such a brilliant concept. What could possibly go wrong?!

I have no idea what Zero etc’ is. I hear about it alot, but I’m to lazy to wiki-search it.

Anyway, there’s plenty of fanservice-oriented show out there. Why pick Karin..?

  12. LOL with the comparison Karin manga version Vs Karin anime version. I not yet read or watching Karin yet but surprised with the differences with these version. Now I’m worried with Kaichou wa Maid-sama anime coz JC Staff will make it…hope it doesn’t have excessive fan-service like Zero no Tsukaima.

PS: I’m a guy and like to read romance shoujo manga ..I’m not lying ^_^

  13. Having seen the anime and an owner of all the manga….

    Manga>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Anime

  14. Well THAT explains the shoujo element. I watched through half of the series debating whether this was an actual shoujo series or a shounen fanservice/moe show with shockingly good plot and moe moments.
