You know what Tear, I “like” a lot of things too. I like it when I unlock a new outfit on Pangya Wii. I like to eat Cherry Pie with tea while watching Tales of the Abyss. But you know what I don’t like? When I don’t see the “hinted” pairing actually GET together at the end of the show when the setup is SO FUCKING THERE COME ON SUNRISE WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM!?

I didn’t play the game, but everyone’s like “you’ll be pleased with the ending” blah blah blah. Ok sorry I’m not pleased. I’m highly enraged actually. 
Ok fine I realize at the end they didn’t have much time and they wanted to make Luke this emotional come back. Ok fine. Here’s how it shoulda went. Everyone turns around & goes home cause it’s late. Tear is left on her own. She turns around and sees a shadow of (obvious Luke is obvious) walking up to her. For god knows what reason, everyone is still there completely destroying any “alone time” these 2 have together. Finally when she begins crying she just like…stands there. COME ON MAN JUMP INTO HIS ARMS OR SOMETHING I’M SURE HE’D BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO ACCEPT YOUR GLOMPING. 
Ugh this is so irritating. This is the whole fucking reason I kept up with this stupid ass show. This shit cop out ending is getting like -4 point rankdown on MAL. I’ve had enough of this bullshit and I’ve had enough of you Sunrise! I liked you when you made Brigadoon & Infinite Ryvius but now you suck, I think it’s time we started seeing other people.
lol it seems like most recent animes start out good, but ended up being like crap in the end.

Btw, did you ever give Toradora a second chance? If you didn’t, then… well, you missed out on one of the season’s less disappointing shows.
I’m disappointed mainly cause the show itself was a boring piece of crap and nothing else in it interested me
I gave up on Toradora after ep 1 cause I was having Zero no Tsukaima flashbacks. I heard it got better but I don’t know if at this point I’m going to bother with the Spring season coming up.
This is why I never try to do pairings with Sunrise, because mine never happen even if its right there like LukexTear, so you’re not alone in those respects.
Wow, now I’m really glad I dropped this shit at 16. I just wish I had dropped it sooner.

If you think that this kind of ending is worth it, then watch the series, since it pretty much sums up why there were people like me fawning over this couple. The pics are COMPLETELY SFW, and no t objectionable in any way, so no harm in checking them out, even if it is from a booru imo.
lol @ the last paragraph. i haven’t seen the finale yet, but it looks like they ended it exactly how the game ends. i can’t say i was happy with the game ending either. it was as if someone had shut off the game, ten seconds before it actually ended.

Well, I actually got to see the FMV of the game’s ending, and Luke and Tear never did any lovey-dovey stuff either (and the screenshots match what’s in the game ending).

Damn, now I definitely won’t catch up with Tales of Abyss, its not worth my time anymore -_-;. As for Toradora, yes I put up with this annoying tsundere crap till it actually got better, and then they completely screw up the ending. YES IMO, they screw it up, and I’m not talking about pairing, this part went as expected. I’m very disappointed in the way they did it, for the whole last episode I was like WFT, man this is so lame…
surprisingly enough Toradora went from unauspicious to serious character development to very fine ending… I liked it very much

2-3 shows to watch for me at best.
The Tales series has a penchant for cheesy endings, and there’s only one game in the series that actually had an actual straightfoward Boy&Girl get together ending (Two if you count one that had the hinted pairing go on and have a kid in the later sequel). Most of the others leave it open for question, most questionably is the one where something happens that “consummates a marriage”, but no one really takes it that way. Besides, Tales of the Abyss really isn’t anywhere near my favorite in the series, and I liked the characters way more than the plot.
I don’t feel any rage over the ending, though it’s probably because both Luke and Tear bore me to death and I couldn’t really care less about them.
However, I do have some qualms regarding the ending music — it felt very out of place after getting used to the “epic ending” music from the game.
As for Tear not running towards Luke by herself, the game and sidequests made it pretty clear that the person at the end was both Asch and Luke. Having Tear go an embrace him would ruin that ambiguity. Sunrise is simply trying not to change game canon.
I didn’t think much of Toradora, tried a few times to get into it, but like Hyakko i just couldn’t.
If i’m honest i;m not surprised by the bad ending of Abyss. It started out average and plumeted rather rapidly.
There hasn’t been any real worth while anime the past few season. Even the new season of maria same feels rather week compared to it’s previous ones. All the bog shows the past few seasons have just been pure garbage, Xam’s, Black God etc etc

That’s Tales classic well normally they make the pairing but 4 some reason they take different paths like lloyd and collete or really make explicit the pairing but others like this one they just “Hint” bah there was this theory that the one that got out of the battle was the fusion of Luke and the Original xD
