Asu no Yoichi had a pretty anticlimatic ending for a generic harem anime. I mean you’d think he might end up with the “girl that he first laid eyes on” or something, plus all those hints of him and Ibuki and in the end…nothing. They just all go back to their “daily lives”. The only amusing thing the entire episode, or series for that matter is how Washizu’s friend went from burly man to uh….teenage girl?? LOL. 
Other than that it felt like they focused too much on the whole WE MUST FIGHT FOR OUR SAMURAI SPIRIT garbage in the end instead of trying to go back to the whole haremi-ish factor which the anime is known for anyway. I mean come on who really watches this show for the samurai crap? If I wanted to see that I’d just go back and rewatch Rurouni Kenshin. Didn’t expect much I guess but still feel like it was a major cop-out.
Ahh.. it was just that disappointing huh.. Chalk it up as a good potential, that floundered at the end.
i mean it didn’t really have much “potential” other than boobs & fanservice, but I was hoping with harems they’d usually add some kind of pairing closure…not this time i guess
Now I’m glad I stopped watching it a long time ago. XD
But why throw all the IbukixYoichi hints and the jealousy from what’s her face, if they weren’t even going to get it on, shifty bastards.
i know!! it’s like all that harem stuff they were doing early on was like totally thrown out of the window when some stupid “bad guy” shows up for like 3 episodes
If the animators are calling it quits for this series, then all we can do now is read the manga (which is still ongoing – and there’s a whole lot of stuff going on there), otherwise we’ll have to wait for season 2.
Yoichi still hasn’t picked a girl in the manga, infact like 2 or 3 have been added to his harem. Although I think Ibuki realized finally she likes him.
lol the ending is typical end up with no one but the ultimate ….wtf. was torigaya Washizu’s friend lol…. seriously from man to small boy to boobs
