    Dear God, this really is the most dramatic anime I have ever seen.

    Hopefully Kyou or Tomoyo or Kotomi will get a crack now.

  20. True end is a god damn reset ending.

    And yes, they are very likely to do it because they fail, I say it again.

    They FAIL.

    The purpose of going with all those events is make a character go in a journey and learn something, that is pretty standard basic of storyline but when in the end there is a shinny reset button I have to ask … why?

    In the end they learned nothing, the audience learns nothing (just that it does not matter how bad things end up since in the end it gets undone) so the whole thing ends up being a exercise of futility … there is absolutely no point in making someone going to undergo hardships to learn something were in the end everything resets and so such knowledge is lost.

    Its drama for the sake of drama and a happy ending for the sake of a happy ending.

  21. i will miss you ushio…..anyways are they going to crama happy ending into the last episode or make it an emo episode where in the end tomoyo kills himself…that would be such a key ending….

  22. Drakron> They are just following the events of the game in which case you DO have to “start over and play the game again in order to get the true end” However you cannot get the true end until you have “suffered” through every ending in the game.

    KyoAni isn’t gonna go making up their own ending suddenly when there’s a reset ending waiting to be animated lol. It’s not fail by game standards but if this was an original work, then yea I can see where you’re coming from.

    Also doing that is not “tossing a consolation prize”, it accepting her death and move on instead of spending the rest of his life married to a tombstone.

  26. It’s not really a reset as much as reward for all the suffering you go through, Tomoya (you, the player) retain all the bad memories even when the miracle happens.

  28. I would rather see Tomoya married to Nishina Rie than the reset ending, but I feel you need more episodes than we have left to properly tell the story.

  32. Well, for those people who want Tomoya to end up with another girl, I’ll pose this question to you – two out of two people Tomoya ends up living with die. You really WANT him to do the same thing to the other girls?

    The really odd part here, timing-wise, is that it always happens after they move in with Tomoya. If this was ‘real life’, the police would undoubtedly investigate… but since this is Clannad, we’re going to see the True End, in all likelihood, since anything else is likely to get KyoAni’s offices burnt out by raging otaku with a penchant for fire.

  34. @Haesslich – XD That has nothing to do with anything.
    Both Nagisa and Ushio were sick. No police investigation there needed, sorry.
    I have real doubts that any of the other girls would suffer anything if they hooked up with him (which I hate btw) maybe fuuko going back in a coma XD.
    But, bottom line. Shame on you to all those who have said “yaay now he can hook up with x or y”.
    You have no sensibility. >:P
