    I’m sure that some new fan shit w/ Naruto bringing back Hinata via Orchimaru’s ZOMGZOMBIES method will be popping up soon.

    Kinda sad that she decided to grow a spine, throw her life away pointlessly and die in the space of 3-5 pages, though you can’t whine about anticlimactic deaths when you look at how Shizune and Kakashi died. Though at least Kakashi died for something.

    It’s still inexcusable that Konohamaru defeated a Pain body and, furthermore, is still breathing.

    Regarding Konohamaru I agree, but on the other hand, the fact that he DIDN’T die just puts him on the shelf of dust collecting characters that Kishimoto hardly ever brings out. Anyone important enough he brings out to kill mercylessly (jiraiya, asuma, itachi, etc)

    Nobody cared about Shizune. Her job was just to cart Tsunade’s pig around. At least Asuma knocked up Kurenai before he went. This is why it pays to be related to the Hokage.

    I think Hinata is dead, but I am not so sure about Kakashi.

When I read the chapter title and saw the picture on the cover I though “No, Kishi wouldn’t have Hinata just confess that’s just so random.” And then he does and kills her off in the next page, and I’m like “WTF?!” The thing that makes me the most pissed off is Kishi kills Kakashi and Hinata but allows Konohamaru to live? That’s some ol’bullshit if I ever did see it. And now Naruto skipped over a tail and went 6 tails, I guess who ever said that this fight wouldn’t end until Naruto went Kyuubi was right. I don’t even know what to say right now…

    Kishi: If the bird won’t sing, kill it. (Doesn’t work? Fuck ‘em)

  27. -_- So here I am on a Friday night. getting ready to read all the manga releases I’ve missed for the week. Tabbed up Firefox with all the releases on onemanga, then without stressing on what to read first, I just went with the first tab, naruto.

    >_> I regret doing that…whatever little mental peace I had, has been promptly removed. Now I’m left wondering if Hinata is truly dead or not, since they didn’t show any substanial imagery, just blood. If she is indeed dead though, that was a cruel way to go, confession of love that spans 400+ chapters(finally) then dies 2 pages afterwards, seriously WAH?!

    That’s just plain disrespectful to a character that took so long to “grow some balls.” I am by no means a fan of any specific Naruto pairing, whether it be Hinata or Sakura, it still pisses me off though.

    Also, anyone else getting tired of the whole Naruto reverting to fox mode to beat a strong foe everytime? It’s like they’re saying without the fox mode Naruto would be a crap ninja. I thought I wouldn’t see it for awhile since he was doing sage tech, but I guess not now. Naruto doesn’t even know what he’s doing when he like that, if he could control it like Killer Bee, it would be more awesome.

  28. Correct me if I’m wrong, but could Pain’s soul sucking jutsu mean that he could possibly be in possession of the souls when stripped from the body? Which would mean kakashi/hinata still have a chance of coming back as they have BONDS with Naruto.

    first, Kishi makes Hinata confess her love just like that….seriously, did anyone expect something like this happen in ONE chapter?? nothing even lead to her confessing to naruto…what the hell.

    plus, if she’s dead, then it’s stupid. “I AM HAPPY TO DIE FOR YOU, NARUTO”(or however she said that)…yes, i am happy to die protecting you, BUT WHAT THE FUCK IS THE POINT OF DYING if the person you protect is gonna die after you die anyway??? IDIOTIC.

    and then, after 400+ chapters of doing nothing, Hinata finally wants to fight, and Kishi does not even let her show her NEW MOVE!!! fuck, this was sooo lame.

    i am dissapointed. just like i have been for the last 2 years of reading this manga. urgghh..

I actually laughed when she confessed – it was so random and out of the blue (and whats even better was that she died within, like, 3 panels afterward lol) but as much as I don’t like Hinata, it really ticked me off that he (Kishimoto) made her throw her life away without putting a single DENT in even ONE of Pain’s clones, I mean, she wasn’t the most amazing fighter ever or anything like that, but that was just harsh. Killed off just to put Naruto in 6-tail mode for plot purposes, thats low.

    Though out of all this mess, you gotta admit that Naruto’s 6-tail mode (with the bones and such) was pretty frickin’ awesome :D

  38. you know thinking about this even further, this is just more proof that Kishimoto could give a flying fuck about any character that doesn’t have a dick. Why else did Konohamaru face a Pain body and live to tell about while Hinata was masacred in less than a page? Because Hinata has boobs and vagina and thus is only good for fan service or cannon fodder.

    Yea your right this IS a shounen manga which caters to an audience mostly filled with hormone jazzed teenage boys, sooo why kill off naruto’s love interest, in other words, why kill off the girl with big boobs…am I right? :)

    >_> Anyway…enough bad jokes, Hinata was the only girl that really had a personal connection with Naruto, since she adapted his ninja way, fell in love bla bla, whole nine yards bit. Sakura on the other hand only started to like him after much dislike and using him to bring back Sasuke.

    Like I said before, I don’t care who he ends up with(if anyone at all), but it is truly underhanded on Kishi’s part to dispose of Hinata in such a manner, such a pathetic death as a simple plot device. Isn’t it usually the secondary characters that have no connection with the main character that get shafted in such a manner? Would have been better if Kishi had offed Konohamaru instead?

    Heres to hoping she anit dead.

    Let’s talk about women as plot devices in Naruto:

    1. TenTen – She is the 3rd member of Team Gai that’s it.
    2. Hana – She is the rebellious Hyuuga sister.
    3. Hinata – She is the shy girl who will do anything to get Naruto’s attention, including die.
    4. Sakura – she’s the tsundere that ends up with the hero (naruto)
    5. Karin – one horny bitch who wants to ride Sasuke’s baloney poney, possibly rebuild the clan with him or be there for him or whatever since Sakura is now out of that picture.
    6. Kurenai – Asuma’s baby maker.
    7. Tsunade – A temporary hokage until the hero finally becomes it.
    8. Shizune – Comic relief, disposed of quickly when necessary.
    9. Moegi – the “female” in Konohamaru’s 3 person team.
    10. Rin – the “medic” in Kakashi’s team to transfer eyeballs.
    11. Chiyo – old granny used as a device to revive Gaara.
    12. Temari – another plot device for Gaara arc, love interest for Shikamaru.

    Which goes back to my point that Hinata would have lived if she wore something other than a heavy coat all the time.

  47. Goodness, I should have read this before making my own Hinata-related post. I don’t think her demise was well-handled, though rather than comparing it to Konohamaru I compared it to Kakashi, whose death perfectly fit his character.

    Ten-ten exists mostly to prove that being awesome with weapons does not really help in the world of ninja: mostly when we see her she’s ineffectual despite being a weapons mistress. Though she’s able to use ninjitsu, which should put her above Rock Lee in terms of flexibility, she pretty much doesn’t do anything except summon thousands of weapons. In fact, if there isn’t a QUEEN OF WEAPONS, DO YOU HAVE ENOUGH SUMMONED WEAPONS?! pic, I’ll have to make one myself at some point.

  48. Tenten also exists to lower the possible chance of Neji and Hinata getting married cousin style 8D
    Or whatever.
    But I do like Tenten and wish that she could be used more in some way. (Besides fillers)
