Kannagi – 13 (Finale)

kannagi4komaSo in conclusion, you can just skip right to 17:39 of this episode and it’ll actually be fairly enjoyable to watch. It got so ridiculously melodramatic with the crying and then the awful background music made me feel like I was watching some kind of 1950s drama movie. I started going “LASSIE COME HOOOMMEE!” when they zoomed out on the river  I do feel rather sorry for Tsugumi. She got instantly placed into the “childhood friend that gets auto-rejected” role whether she likes it or not. I kinda shipped Jin x Nagi at first, then I was like whatever Nagi’s retarded, Tsugumi is better, but I guess near the end it’s really obvious Jin’s loins only stir for 1 person in this anime :P Oh well overall fun series to watch  but probably not something I will persue (i.e. read the manga.) Kannagi pretty much ends for me with this episode.

  1. For some reason I want to say, “Nice boat.”

Anyhoo, It’s been a fun little ride, the maid waitress ep was my favorite. Blushing and what not, even when it’s annoying, it was still cute.

All’s well that ends well. :)

  2. All they need to do is insert H-scene music and all the dames and iyans. So in conclusion, people can skip all 12 and a half plus episodes and run to 17:39 (#13) instead? :D

  3. Sounding like an old maid, retrospectively pitaten anime wasn’t so bad. Sure they took the wrong turn 15 junctions ago but at least it came to something of a conclusion. At least it took its own path instead of leaving ends dangling.

I discussed this point with someone regarding the shana anime vs light novels differences and he prefers it to not be a carbon copy. I’m beginning to see his view. Can you imagine second 2 ending with Yuuji kidnapping Shana and stealing her off to Seireiden and then waiting for 2 more years to see the conclusion?

  4. But I have this friend who loves 1950s drama movies; she wrote a paper on the films of Douglas Sirk for her grad class on Post-War/Postmodern America!!

    • If this were a Douglas Sirk movie, Nagi would’ve been a well-to-do housewife who scandalizes her community by moving in with Jin after the death of her husband.

  5. I guess there wasn’t much in Kannagi to write home about other than the blatant parodies and whatnot from the butthurt director. That said, I’m looking forward to a new season if there’s ever one, since I’m shallow like that ;D

  6. Kannagi - Enjoyable but nothing to write home about « クロス† チャネル

  7. Just read your Kannagi posts here and I can understand your comment about Kannagi 14… :P

It wasnt that bad, but I must admit the episode itself was just like a “filler”
